March 7 is the anniversary of the death of Saint Thomas Aquinas. To honor the Angelic Doctor's memory, Fisher More College is hosting its annual conference on the Philosophy and Theology of Saint Thomas Aquinas: the "Thomism and Tradition Annual Conference." It's free and open to the public. This year's featured speakers are:
- Father Thomas Joseph White, OP, Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C.
- Dr. Christopher Malloy, University of Dallas
- Dr. Jared Staudt, Augustine Institute
- Dr. Taylor Marshall, Fisher More College.
The conference begins at Our Lady of Victory Center in Fort Worth Texas at 10pm. The keynote presentation from Father Thomas Joseph White and Q&A panel begins at 6pm. Please join us for Father Thomas Joseph's engaging presentation titled, "The Virgin Mary and the Church: The Marian Model of Ecclesial Faith." Father Thomas Joseph will be receiving our "Father Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange Award in Thomistic Studies."
Fr. Thomas Joseph White, O.P. is a native of southeastern Georgia. He converted to Catholicism in college, in part from the influence of reading the letters of Flannery O’Connor. Educated at Brown University (B.A.,religious studies) and the University of Oxford (D.Phil., theology), he entered the Order of Preachers in 2003 and was ordained a priest in 2008. He teaches theology at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C. and is the director there of the Thomistic Institute. He is the author of Wisdom in the Face of Modernity. A Study in Thomistic Natural Theology (Sapientia Press, 2009), and is an Ordinary Member of the Pontifical Academy of St.Thomas Aquinas.
