Yesterday, the five Marshall children prepared our family yule log. It's a new tradition this year. We found a giant log and then decorated it. If I understand the tradition rightly, a family prepares a giant log with ribbons and flowers. You can even drill a hole in the log and pour in wine, spices, incense, and oil. Our children also wrote their names on it. On Christmas Eve, you ceremoniously process the log into the house with carols and light it in the hearth. Then you sit around the fire as a family.Pretty cool, eh?
